The English Instructor Khadim Hussain Subhphoto
Interview by Ahsan Abbas Shaikh,

When I visited to him for conducting an interview, assigned by the weekly newspaper the Roshni —our university publication. He welcomed and gave me much hospitality, although I am his pupil! He created such a cordial atmosphere to make me comfortable; though he is a very big name in the sphere of the Hyderabad cities’ English instructors has not even a bit of arrogance. Therefore, here we go to start our interview….
Q1:         where are you from actually and form where you got your early education?
A:            basically, I am from Badin not from Hyderabad, and got my early education from my hometown Badin. After clearing the intermediate in Arts & Humanities [in 1999] and of course, with the transfer of my father, we shifted at Hyderabad.
Q2:         after passing HSC-II, in which subject did you do your graduation?
A:            after clearing the intermediate in Arts & Humanities from Badin, I enrolled myself in institute of English language & literature [IELL], at university of Sind, jamshoro as a 2001 batch, and cleared the degree on the highest rank the first-class [upper division].
Q3:         there are two syllabus IELL recommend based on Linguistics and Literature, what did you choose to pursue your career?
A:            I chose the English Literature, because of my company what I kept since my childhood, my uncle he was also the English Literature’s professor at SALU, Khairpur. Therefore, when he came back to us on every weekend he discussed with me the entire attires of literature, and gradually my mind was shaping out towards Literature.
Q4:         so, between Literature and Linguistics, which one is more famous nowadays, near to you?
A:            Well, Both are important because both are same in language. Near to me, either Literature or Linguistics is subsets of each other—very ambiguous point. You have to learn and study English language, if you want to read and understand English literature, and vice-versa.
Q5:         sir, what about the trend has been set currently, that English is very important….what do you say, is it?
A:            yes, it is true! English is very important nowadays just because of two reasons….Firstly, it is an official language of Pakistan, i.e., you have to learn it, and the other one; it is one of the international languages-told by lingua franca-which is spoken throughout the world.
Q6:         how did you find and see the notion among students regarding English proficiency being a lecturer of English subject at “khursheed begum Government College”?
A:            I have been serving as an English lecturer at since 2007. Plenty of students meet me, and I observe them and their language difficulty as well. Therefore, I come at the conclusion that students have not a sincere teacher who guides them; otherwise, all students have enough aspiration regarding it.
Q7:         does English graduate is not able even to write an essay in English Language?
A:            no, it is a futile observation regarding the situation, because, except linguistically, the essay belong to writing too and writing comes through practice. The more you work hard, the more you will become efficient.

Q8:        so, how do they overcome this difficulty is there any formula?
A:            First they have to go and search for the sincere teacher who really a expert and then the second phase comes called, personal efforts. The more you work hard, the more you will learn or become expert. This is the simple formula.
Q9:         sir, you are running your personal institution of English language, how could you manage your all kind of multifarious activities?
A:            it was hard to me to manage all ones, but now I become used to of this schedule. I have been teaching English since 2005, at my personal center named “Bukhari institution of English language”. Moreover, I kept on trying my level best. The students will not have any complain regarding my teaching plan as well as method. Specially, thanks to Allah almighty! Who bestowed and stabilized me upon such an honorable job.
Q10:       why your tuition fee is very less the 600 per month, an equivalent to free-of-cost?
A:            Because I observe that, many students do not able to allow themselves to tolerate the institutions’ expenses. Therefore, in that sense, I being a teacher provide a platform to needy students. Because financial inadequacy is, actually a primary obstacle is still facing by almost every family as well as each student.
Q11:       sir, would you like to suggest something to students?
A:            if any student wants to be success in any subject then he has to work hard. Because education is totally rely on the hard work-not physically, but mentally, and never goes in vain. So have faith on God, keep on try or work hard and then leave it for rewarding towards the God.
