As we know
that the cricket is most played in Pakistan. After the gymnastic, the cricket
is more preferred than the other physical activity. There are lots of amateur
cricketers; you may observe that the after ‘Friday-Prayer’ every road is
converted into 'Mini-Melbourne Cricket Stadium’ all across the Hyderabad. And
such as when winter starts the all Game-Lovers uncovered them like a seasonal-
frog, but they do not have any particular platform from where they perform and
exhibit their talent, officially. This compelled the Sheikhs community
authority to allow their emerging talent a glorified place.
Therefore,
the Sheikhs community came forward and provides a status to the local talents. Where
the couple of years ago, there was no any physical activity as well as the
particular spot for improving their youngest raw-materials. And they did very
work hard and somewhat faced the music and after the entire calculations, the
community took initiative and organize ‘Sheikh Brothers Cricket Tournament’.
This opportunity was only for kinsfolk, not for the outsiders. Afterwards, an
event had emerged on the frontlines of the local or area-wise sports with the
consent of the entire authority----Sheikhs Brothers Cricket Tournament
[S.B.C.T] which playing at The Hajji Gulshan-e-Illahi Sports Complex, Liaquat
Colony.
This
tournament has been playing since 2009, annually in every winter at the
cardinal area of the town called Liaquat Colony in Hajji Gulshan-e-Illahi
Sports Complex. So what is your point in this tournament
to organize every year.....any rake-off? Well! We do not have any use of this
tournament [on the behalf of the organizers committee]. But we have only profit
was that our youth’s constituents become
physically sound, and we get it every year. Because ‘Health is Wealth’ and except this we do not want anything!!!
“Because
our fresh-blood have not enough economy to tolerate extra expenses, suchlike,
sports gymnastic and so many so. This is why we provide them smooth and
official opportunity to be physically fit without investing any rupee, except a
tournament’s reasonable fee.”
Actually,
the purpose to design such kind of project was, “to draw the attentions of the
young generation towards sports and shunning the all kinds of injurious types
of deeds out from their precious lives, suchlike Drugs addiction, Smoking and
so much so”. What effects of this activity has conceived by community’s
teenagers yet? Actually, “The more sports
hike among them, the more they become fit and fine”. This edict of the
community authority has been got 45 to 55 percents positive result so far. And
we are very glad to see because, currently, not complete but almost they
[youngsters] adapted athletic manners, and leave out all ill-healthy acts.
The Hajji
Gulshan-e-Illahi Sports Complex----where the ten tournaments have been played and
the eleventh is playing----was not so famous before, as the Sheikhs Brothers
Cricket Tournament [S.B.C.T] exalted its image, locally. This seems the genuine
reason to make remarkable each others. Nowadays, it has been a talk of the town
among the all cricket lovers local wise. But what are the main concerns of the natives regarding this
tournament? According to them, they have never ever
seen such a bond of love and sometimes clashes among the community, what exhibited
by players as well as supporters, nearly 500 to 1000 persons at a time on the
surface of the ground. So the local people enjoy this attire of the community
as well as local cricketers’ new image, and this is the actual reason of the
success of this tournament in that area.
What do you say about the rivalry
takes place between the teams?
“One
thing you must be remembered that being a player you have to be set free
yourself from all kind of your relationships, before put yourself on the
ground”.
And the same theory adapted by the players of
this tournament, and then they sometimes become angry and rival as well. This
is the beauty of the tournament!! And would you believe that whole area
enjoying it. When the both sides squad become angry and do verbal tussle and
their lovers as well. It is seems like an India-Pakistan’s crowds do. But it is
not so real, as far as the sportsman spirits is concerned; they become actual player
of the team who has only one aim to make his all efforts for making his team
winner.
This was probably the one of the main reason
behind renovation of the ground few times ago. So, it may be said that this
event provide the Sports Complex as well as the local community’s cricketers a
kiss-of-life. And the fame of the event is not only for inside the boundary
wall of the surface, but outside the ground too.
The
criterion of the ‘fame’ of this is that all shops range near the Sports Complex
is awaited for this tournament, especially Food corners or restaurants. Because
the local residents come out for watching and enjoying the all eatables as well
as the matches of the entire shops around the ground and then the shops economy
probably hike. Almost all residents celebrate this cricket league as an ‘Occasion’.
Would you believe that all and each team is known by the whole locals-residents?
“There are four teams participated in
this [S.B.C.T], namely:
Hyderi Heroes Cricket Club: This team
is most powerful as compared to the others and has been winner four times in
the League.
Jhuley
Lal Cricket Club: The team name is taken from the Hazrat Lal Shahbaz
Qalander slogan the “Jhuley Lal!!” It has also been two times winner, and the
first tournament’s maiden award they won. This is what the really an insignia
is crowned to theirs head!
Jamal
Shah Lions: This is the newly winner team and full of energetic squad of this tournament.
Jumbo Fighters: This is
newly emerged team. The etymology of the team name ‘jumbo’ is very interesting…..The
Captain says, “We used to play a betting match on every Friday. And the prize
was Jumbo size pack of cold drinks---a newly introduced at that time. So, we
won lots of the times. At the end the slogan had raised regarding us that
“jumbo-players winning team”, so slowly and gradually the all words have been
removed and the Jumbo remained only i.e. this team is named over this
philosophy called “Jumbo Fighters Cricket Club”.
These all
teams are well-known in the Liaquat colony, specifically, in the sphere of the
Hajji Gulshan-e-Illahi Sports complex. It must be said that their fame is
exalting in the respective area as like the jungle fire.
In this
regard the ‘community authority’ remarked that what the publicity has been
achieved without any advertisement a really an unexpected to us. We cheer this
natural publicity without do any investment. It has proved very useful to us
and perceivable that youngsters of our community drag themselves towards sports
and evade from all evil deeds……. so if anyone want to make their youngsters conscious from the guilty habits,
try to make them a part of the any sport ---- suggestion.
