Trip to Ranikot by bus

So finally the wait was over and the day came for which we were waiting for past few weeks. Since me and my friends planned a trip to Ranikot. We were so excited. It was a cool beautiful morning of late winter, i picked my bags up and left the house. I took a motor riksha to the bus stop where my friends were already waiting for me. The feeling of flying by cars in this little machine is priceless.

I arrived at the bus stop of Hyderabad and took a heavy breath as i unloaded my baggage on the pavement next to a bus. Me and my friends then joined the group of people we were going to travel with. Alot of people on the bus stop were staring at me because i was carrying a guitar and a pair of speakers in my hands. Anyway, after standing an hour on the bus stop the bus arrived and we were seated in to it. Luckily, I got the window seat, the happiness of having a window seat is Indescribable. As you got to enjoy all the beautiful views during your journey.

The journey finally begins and so does the excitement.

I suggest you to put your headphones on and listen to your favorite songs. You would enjoy listening music during travelling, as it doubles the fun. Ranikot is approximately 90 km away from Hyderabad. It takes about half an hour to reach Jamshoro toll plaza from Hyderabad. On the way to Jamshoro you'll be refreshed to see blue water of River Indus on your right side, right now surrounded by fogg as it is 8'o clock in the morning. The scenery was blur but still so beautiful. I remember Jamshoro as the city of bridges and River Indus. When you are in Jamshoro Don't forget to walk along the river bank and to have a ride on those small boats floating on the river surface.

It is an amazing location and favorite place of both tourists and locals of Hyderabad and Jamshoro. The city somehow reflects the spirit of River Indus - calm and fascinating.

Whenever you are traveling by bus with your friends  just don't forget to dance in it. Dancing in the bus is really fun, it feels like for a minute or two you are free from all your worries and you are as free as a bird flying in the sky aimlessly.

The next point that caught my sight was the mighty project, Lakhra coal-fired power plant. Some of you might have visited it.  It was all surrounded by wires and towers carrying a huge amount of current.

Soon after crossing cadet college Petaro you'll find a small hotel of chai probably on your left side, i swear this hotel sells the best chai in the country. So never forget to have a cup of tea there. Specially when you are travelling in winter chai is must.

Resuming the journey from the hotel , you are now just a few kilometers away from your destination.

Look of sandy kind of areas outside the window and some zigzag type of roads in the front are the signs that you are about to reach your destination. It takes 15 more minutes from those zigzag roads to Ranikot. And there you are standing in front of the great fort of Ranikot. It literally seems like the small version of the great wall of China. On interviewing the locals out there to know the stories and historical background of the place, we come to know that:

Ranikot fort is believed to be the world's largest fort. Since 1993, it has been on the tentative list of UNESCO world heritage sites. This fort is the third longest building in the world. It is also known as " The Talpur Fort "  but the original architects of this fort are unknown. Ranikot fort is also known as the great wall of Sindh.

Isn't it amazing?

In general, i would suggest you to visit Ranikot in winter because in summer its too hot out there , as it is the place for hiking and wandering with less shaded  areas and in summer the hot weather won't allow you to do so aimlessly.

The marvellous thing about Ranikot is its graceful architecture. There is no rush of modern life like in Hyderabad, no traffic , no polluted air, and of course no worries of everyday life.

This relieving life rythm attracts tourists from all over the country.

In my opinion, it is one of the best tourists point. If you are really tired of the crowded life of city and need a break go visit Ranikot.

What and how outer world looks like that is main point, or discussion among the group members on the subject or what u saw from the window. Reader is more interested what u have seen. Anyway, after standing an hour on the bus stop the bus finally arrived and we were seated in to the bus. Luckily i got a window seat , the happiness of having a window seat is undescribable, as you got to enjoy all the beautiful views during your journey.

Our destination was approximately 90 km away. It took us half an hour to reach jamshoro toll Plaza from hyderabad.  As soon as we left jamshoro, the bus driver played songs on the tape recorder and we started to dance in the bus. Dancing in the bus is really fun.

We then crossed lakhra power house , its a huge wonderful project and was all surrounded by wires and towers carrying a huge amount of current.

Soon after crossing cadet college petaro the bus stopped on a small dhaba for tea break. I love having tea at dhabas and specially when you are having it with your friends in the winter morning. Once we were done with the tea and refreshment we got back to our seats in the bus and the journey resumed.

We were now just a few kilometers away from our destination. I was having a clear look of sandy kind of areas outside the window and a zig zag type of road in the front, which was a sign that we are about  to reach our destination. It took us 15 more minutes from those zigzag roads to Ranikot. And there we were standing in front of the great fort of Ranikot.

I got down from the bus and started exploring the place . I took alot of pictures of the fort. It literally seems like the small version of the great wall of china. We interviewed  local people out there to know the stories and historical background of the place.

This fort is the third longest building in the world. It is also known as "the talpur fort" but the original architects of this fort are unknown.

There were also many spots for hiking, guest houses for night stays and hotels for food.

The fort was so beautifully made. It was indeed a very beautiful and a must visit place with a very interesting historical background.

It was already evening and we have to leave for hyderabad. So we got back in the bus and headed back towards Hyderabad After saying good-bye to Ranikot.
