Female Feticide
Fahad Hingoro Roll Number 28 Bs Part III { Article }

Female feticide is the termination of a fetus within the womb on the grounds that its sex is female. Female feticide is thus the conjunction of the two ethical evils; abortion and gender bias. A fetus’s right to life out weights the parents right to wealth, pride, or convenience, whether the fetus is, male or female. The term “sex selective abortion” is preferable to the term feticide, since its points to both of the ethical evils inherent in this practice.
Female feticide has replaced female infanticide as a means to reduce or eliminate female offspring. In societies women’s status is very low, many female fetuses rejected thus, at least 100 million of the total number of aborted fetuses have been victims of female feticide. This number is based on predicted ratio of boy to girl births and does not take into account of the male and female fetuses that are aborted for non gender-based reasons.
The practice of female feticide denies the purpose of all human life salivation through transformation in the image of the God. An aborted fetus is denied this transformation in its fullest sense. Therefore, the Orthodox Church, which exists “for the life world,” has an ethical responsible to denounce the practice of female feticide; to persuade national political and economics leaders to oppose female feticide; to understand and counteract its economic, societal, and religious causes and to care for those who suffer from its effects.
In countries such as china and India, the practice of infanticide continued into the 20th century. However, the 1970s saw a dramatic drop in the girl to boy ratio in India, when abortion was legalized and ultrasound technology enabled families to determine the sex of their child by the fourth month of pregnancy. By 2018 ratio slipped to 814 girls for every 1000 boys as opposed to natural rate of 952 girls for every 1000 boys. A recent case in Mirpurkhas city Sindh a family who was not having a baby for couple of year. After some years they got a baby girl they were happy enough, after two year they again got a baby girl, father was not happy because he wanted a baby boy not a baby girl. And he was cursing his wife as if she was responsible for all this. Another case of female feticide was seen in khairpur Nathan shah, a came to know through ultrasound that fetus was a baby girl but they wanting a baby boy.
The ethical problems goes along with economic growth in many cases, it is the wealthy families that can afford ultrasounds and abortions. If unchecked, the problems will grow in propositions to the Pakistani economy.  unfortunately, manly female infants meet the same end in Pakistan.  According  to the Edhi foundation, it was estimated that more than a thousand infants were killed  or left to die last year. the tragic truth is that most of  these figures are gathered from the main Pakistan cities while the number of killings from rural goes undiscovered. The Edhi foundation has also said that it has found forty babies dead in garbage dumps and sewers.
The rate of female infanticide  has risen  in Pakistan and it is believed that poverty is the one of main factors  behind this sad reality. Because many woman are not permitted to work and became the "financial responsibility" of fathers and husbands, girls are seen  as `greater economic burden`.
Don’t let a female become a burden; provide her with the most beautiful upbringing, let her have access to best education you can afford, cherish her, and adore her rather than looking down on her is if she were dust under your feet. she is a blessing from God accept her.
