A Journey
from a gully boy to a celebrity
YouTube’s
era is quite vast in itself and when it comes to Pakistanis, they have little
or nothing to do with it in concerning of using this platform to present their
original content, and that is for sure that content creators on YouTube earn
good money. We see vloggers, tech reviewers and makeup artists, chefs and other
professions anyone who has some special skills, from different countries using
the platform of YouTube to exhibit their content. In recent years, we have seen
a few Pakistani vloggers pop up on the YouTube like, Salaudin Taimoor aka
Mooroo, Umer Khan (Ukhano) etc. Irfan Junejo is one of those vloggers who has
successfully chased their dream by joining YouTube as a content creator. He has
more than six hundred thousand subscribers till now, and he got one hundred
thousand subscribers in just a year, which is pretty surprising.
YouTube
sensation, Irfan Junejo was born on September 6, 1990 in Karachi. He is basically from Mirpurkhas, Sindh. He
was obsessive about Photography and Football and his dream was to join Football
Academy in London but due to financial issues he had to drop his football
career and started freelance photography. Later in 2015, He joined Snapchat and
used to make a story of his whole day and he always got a great feedback, and
that’s how, slowly, his shyness reduced in front of the camera. After few years
passed he created his YouTube channel with a username of IJ7Films and posted
his first Vlog on January 2017, named “My First Vlog”, and he started vlogging
and sharing his daily routine with people on YouTube. He is inspired from his
favorite vlogger and YouTuber named Casey Neistat and also copied his style in
many videos.
In
this journey he faced many difficulties because of judgmental peoples but he
never gave up persuade his dream and did the things that made him happy and
finally he was so close to his dream that he became one of well-known YouTuber’s
in Pakistan. While going through his vlogs you will come to know that he is
extremely shy, & affectionate of photography and football, and these were
the only mediums of expressions and passion that made gave him fame. In his
interview, he mentioned that he used to capture photos for DP (display picture)
of the boys of his town to earn money and later he also started a mini football
academy to help others pursue their goal in football.
Apart
from his own channel, Irfan also co-hosts a show on YouTube called “The Jo Bhi
Show” with his best friend Muneeb Adil, on that show they were discussing regular
life issues. Except that he also collaborated with other fellow YouTuber’s.
Junejo’s
vlogs are really simple and true in nature and mostly based upon the day to day
routines. His famous vlog was “Junejo Guide to Naran”, which got 1.1M view. After
that he became the Brand Ambassador of national and multinational companies
including Huawei Honor, Furor and Emirates. Most of Pakistani youngsters follow
Irfan and his work he inspires millions of youngsters not only in Pakistan but
internationally people love his work and his talent is praised. This in itself
is a huge accreditation to Irfan.
While
his academic years, he used to be an obedient boy, but then he dropped off from
business school that was the moment when he stopped caring about what people
would say (Log kia kahain gy), Secondly,
he didn’t got a chance for film school to learn filmmaking, so technically, he
is not bound by any rule, which results to think beyond the limits. He have
been consistent in creating content.
Once
interviewer asked him that, “for aspiring vloggers, what works in vlogging,
different vloggers have a different approach, and what is it that works for you?”,
and he replied “There are two kinds of vloggers, one is a personality-driven
vlog where a famous person starts vlogging and the second one is the kind of
vlog which is based on the story and cinematic skills. The formula is to manage
a balance between the story and creative cinematic skills.”
His story is
inspiring for million his story teaches us to never give-up follow your dream
no matter what others think of you.
