Raza Muhammad memon is assistant director at social welfare
department Government of Sindh. He is young and energetic guy who is working in
social welfare department and Struggling for Orphans.
Interviewer: Do you
have the skills necessary to succeed in your career?
Interviewee: Yes! I think in this era of science and
information technology everyone should have some skills for a good job so I
have skills for this job with the degree in MA Sociology.
Interviewer: What is
more important to you: the money or the work?
Interviewee: Both are important to me because money is for
survival of life in the society and work is my passion which I do honestly in
my office.
Interviewer: What do
you see about yourself doing within the early days of this job?
Interviewee: In early days everyone faces so many
difficulties. Therefore I also faced like that when I entered in my
Professional life. There is big difference in student life and professional
life. One has to maintain one’s dressing and punctuality for office which I did
as well as I understood the behavior of the colleagues in my office.
Interviewer: tell me
about a time that you had adapted to a difficult situation?
Interviewee: I faced several difficulties at various moments
in my life; to resolve those I wanted to be busy so I taught in private school
and gave English tuition in homes.
Interviewer: what do
you like and dislike about the job we are discussing?
Interviewee: well It is very interesting question regarding
liking and disliking. When I got admission in sociology I wanted become
socialist, so It was my dream, about the job my department is supporting to the orphans those living under poverty.
Social welfare department bears their education, food and shelter expenses. I
think there is no reason to dislike my job.
Interviewer: how do
you manage your personal and professional life?
Interviewee: I manage
my personal life spending my time with my family and playing games on weekend
go visit outside from the Hyderabad city. While professional life is very tough
life when work in office increases so definitely pressure is also increases so
I give 2 or 3 hours more to office work.
Interviewer: when you
to be social welfare officer did your Family support you?
Interviewee: Yes, Alhamdulliah! My Family always has
supported me at any stage of my life. I had already told you that my decision changed
becoming social welfare officer when I qualified my intermediate.
Interviewer: what are
the biggest opportunities for this department right now?
Interviewee: Nowadays my department is also working on
charity in health department government of Sindh which is given to civil
hospital department for poor people which comes from remote areas of Sindh.
Interviewer: what are
the biggest challenges facing the department right now?
Interviewer: there several challenges which facing the social welfare department one of them the most challenge for department funding
and budget because there are so many orphan and poor children are living in the
homes their education and food expenses are much and more as well as Dar ul
Amaan also comes under the social welfare department government of Sindh their
all expenses also bear this department.
Interviewer: have you
ever faced corruption scandal in your department?
Interviewee: No, Alhamdullah since I have joined the office I
have never seen any case of corruption. On the other hand five fingers are not equal
and black sheep are exist in every department.
Interviewer: Will
this department secure the future of those orphans?
Interviewee: Actually the aim of Sindh government is provide
shelter, food and education save the children from child labour through the social welfare department. So this
department never gives guarantee for the jobs it is a separate process it does
not comes under social welfare department.
Interviewer: what is
your message in last?
Interviewee: my message is by this quote “THE STRONGEST PEOPLE MAKE TIMES TO HELP
OTHERS, EVEN THEY ARE STRUGGLING WITH THEIR OWN PERSONALPROBLEMS.”
