Profile: Fozia a girl who struggled a lot for her studies
I belong to a family in which a girl can’t go outside and study after matriculation. I am very confident girl after seeing the environment of my family I decided that I have to study a lot and show my family that a girl can do anything, for admission in university I suffered a lot to get permission from my family members to get higher studies that I aimed for.
When I got permitted then in first attempt I couldn’t pass entry test, after that so many people degraded me but I took admission in Bsc and got first position in nawabshah district. Family environment and domestic violence didn’t only disturb me mentally but it destroyed my sister’s life too few days before my entry test exam it was a big shock for me but I didn’t give up.
I was not able to give my 100% on entry test at a time but I appeared and got selected for doctor of physiotherapy and pharmacy and then I took admission in DPT. My aim is to serve community and physiotherapy is a field which truly belongs to serving. We give love and serve to bedridden patient those who are ignored by their families. The second most focus of my aim of life is to empower girl or woman. Struggle didn’t end here; when I got admission in DPT I didn’t have enough fees to pay. I was unable to pay it.
I applied in much scholarship in the very first year of my university. I submitted thousands of forms online and in university I finally got HEC need base scholarship. Nothing got better for me; my father was diagnosed with bladder tumor he is still under treatment in SIUT. After one year of university my brother was diagnosed with chronic disease of kidney an lads to renal failure. After much struggle my family became very dear to me. Death of my sister made me realized that nothing in the world can replace a family member even though a biggest success. My brother was on dialysis for four years, my family was not ready and my brother was getting ill day by day and my family was not ready for transplantation it was not easy for me to convince them, we went to SIUT none of my brothers and sisters were ready to donate kidney. My father was already under treatment and mother was weakened and I didn’t want my parents to donate theirs. I requested the doctors to take mine but they rejected due to my age issue. I the period of dialysis of my brother I was the only one with him to take care of him and deal external matters too. During this phase I faced alot problems and other private hospitals were charging huge amount.
I talked to my social organization many personal NGOS, well recognized personalities but none was ready to help. I used to travel alone after university to Karachi for meeting many people to help me this regard. I visited many hospitals taking uncountable reviews from doctors and many of my visits on sindh secretariat assembly paid off. It was very difficult for me there were no lights of hope but I didn’t give up.
Finally I met Minister Sir Nisar Khuhro I discussed him how difficult everything was for me to carry my patient brother and requesting doctors for transplantation I am giving my kidney but I was not getting operate for many years. Private schools were ready to operte but I couldn’t pay the amount. I met vice chnellor of dow university and requested him to help me out, he helped me by the reference of Nisar khuhro operated in dow. I donated my kidney to my brother on july 28th july 2018 many tests of mine were conduced on the donations of my friends collected and then we operate free on the request still I didn’t end up, now I am struggling for immunosuppressive drug of my brother and taking my parents.
